Understanding Misc Memberships
Misc memberships are an additional feature in Membri 365 that allow you to create flexible memberships fully independent from a member status. They are ideal for services such as specialized newsletters, platform access, external subscriptions, and more.
They can be linked to any active account — member or not — and require no configuration tied to standard membership options.

Create a Misc Membership Type
Before creating a membership, you must first define a misc membership type from the Configuration > Misc Memberships section.
Main fields to configure:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Base Price | Cost of the membership excluding additional subscribers |
Duration (months) | Duration of the membership in months |
Renew X days before end | Number of days before the end when the renewal should be generated |
Included Subscribers | Number of contacts included in the base price |
Price per Additional Subscriber | Cost per subscriber beyond the number included |
Invoice and Receipt Templates | Templates used for the initial invoice, renewals, and receipts |
Create a Misc Membership
Once the misc membership type is created, you can create a misc membership for any account.
Steps:
- Go to the Misc Memberships section and click
+ New
- Select an account
- Select the misc membership type
- Select the primary contact (Optional)
- Add subscribed contacts (Optional)
- Set the start date and end date (Optional)
- If no primary contact or subscribed contacts are added, only the membership record will be created with no related entries.
- You may also omit start and end dates. In that case, the membership will not expire or renew.
Invoice a Misc Membership
Once the membership is ready, you can invoice it using the Invoice
button in the toolbar.
When invoiced:
- A misc membership invoice is created and linked to the account
- The billing email is automatically sent using the configured template
- A Membership Subscriber record is created for each contact linked to the membership
Everything is automated in Membri 365 — the invoice, email delivery, and receipt generation — based on the selected templates. This ensures a clear, centralized, and reliable process.
Manage Renewals
As the end date approaches, Membri 365 checks the parameters of the membership type and automatically creates a new membership that is ready to be invoiced.
This new membership carries over the original parameters (type, duration, subscribers, etc.) and can be adjusted as needed before invoicing. The system generates it according to the number of days configured in the membership type.
This approach provides a continuous and structured way to manage ongoing and upcoming memberships — no manual recreation needed.
